Importance of inductor design for induction billet heating furnace
With the popularization of induction heating equipment, more and more workpiece shapes can use induction billet heating furnace to achieve heating treatment. Because the workpiece is usually heated inside the induction heater (i.e. induction heating coil), we should design induction coils suitable for heating according to the different sections of the workpiece. Induction heaters usually used for induction heating can be made into spiral inductors, slit sensors, flat circular inductors, heteromorphic inductors and magnetic conductors. Because there is no perfect theoretical design method for the inductor used in the induction billet heating furnace, the traditional method usually uses “experience method” or the existing calculation formula. Due to the large error of the traditional method, the heating work will not reach the expected heating effect. Then the medium frequency induction billet heating furnace has to be remade, resulting in a waste of manpower and financial resources.
In view of the disadvantages of the current production method of the induction heater, Forever regards low cost, high efficiency and safety as guiding ideology. The theoretical and experimental methods are combined to correct the theoretical calculation value by the experimental measurement value of inductor to improve the heating efficiency of the induction heater.
The main contents are as follows: first, through the establishment of the mathematical model between the induction heater (spiral) and the heated workpiece, the calculation formula of the general inductor impedance is derived, and various factors affecting the inductance of the inductor are analyzed with the experimental results. Secondly, the general formula of “partial inductance value” and “overall inductance value” of single spiral coil element is derived by the auxiliary design method of spiral coil element, and the influence of the parts of different materials (magnetic and non magnetic material) on the relationship between “part” and “whole”. Finally, according to the principle of induction electromotive force, the calculation formula of N finite length multi-layer solenoid series connection inductor is further obtained by increasing the number of induction coils. When the same name of the spiral coil element of multiple sizes is connected, the direction of the magnetic field is the same because of the same direction of current flow in the metal induction heat treating furnace and the inductance amount is far greater than the inductance of the single coil. Therefore, we can make use of the existing coil elements to make multilayer series parallel connection to form the inductance value we need.
